Simulation by Deb Thomas
Objective
Simulations closely resemble a real work experience. The learning comes from the real-life content of the experiential activity. Simulations provide a safe environment for participants to practice a new system or concept.
Time Required
About 45-60 minutes - can easily expand or contract the activity to suit the available time.
Materials Required
Options include:
- An on-line test environment identical or similar to the systems used on the job.
- A management decision that affects employee productivity or satisfaction.
- A business decision that affects the product quality or customer satisfaction.
- A team decision that affects the functionality of the team.
Instructions
Announce to the class that are to imagine they are in a real work environment. The processes they use determine whether they are successful in completing the exercise with the desired results.
