June 2009 Newsletter

[firstname,fallback=Good Morning],

Are you too busy doing more with less in these times of change to facilitate one of our fully scripted and engaging training modules? If so, give me a call so I can match you with one of our qualified facilitators. How's that for helping you find time for what you want to do, like taking a vacation?

Otto's TootsAnnouncing Otto's Toots:

I've decided that starting with this newsletter I will provide you with a monthly tip on designing, developing, and/or documenting training. This feature will be under "Otto's Toots." The name is a palindrome of sorts - clever huh? - and I would like you to submit your tips and ideas with regard to designing, developing, and documenting training, too...a way for you to "toot" your own horn.

Otto's Toots:

The most commonly known design model for developing training is ADDIE. It is comprised of 5 phases:

  1. Analysis, which is the process of gathering data to identify specific needs - the who, what, where, when, and why of the design process.
  2. Design, which is the planning stage.
  3. Development, during which training materials and content are selected and developed based on the learning objectives.
  4. Implementation, which occurs when the course is delivered, whether in person or electronically.
  5. Evaluation, which is the ongoing process of developing and improving instructional materials based on feedback received during and following implementation.

(For more information on designing, developing, and documenting training, check out our Designing Training for Fun and Results eWorkbook.)

Remember, submit your tips or ideas on designing, developing, and/or documenting training to be featured in an upcoming newsletter!
